Kent earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1992. Since 1985 he has worked for various architectural firms until starting his own firm in 1999, which he managed for sixteen years until establishing Andrulaitis + Mixon in 2015. His completed projects include new custom homes, extensive residential remodels, commercial interiors, small commercial buildings, and guest homes.

Kent is a lifetime learner and educator. To that extent he is continuously researching, attending seminars and reading up on the latest materials and building processes. He has spoken for the Adult Education "Green Building Series" in Santa Barbara and has volunteered time in area elementary schools for the Built Environment Educational Program (BEEP).

 

Kent established his own firm with the idea of creating a young energetic firm dedicated to producing innovative and environmentally sensitive design solutions with a a strong commitment to quality architecture and continues those principles at Andrulaitis + Mixon.

Kent believes that the most successful projects are a collaborative effort. Striving to maintain an efficient, productive and harmonious relations with the Client, Contractor, and the Architectural team of consultants.

​

Outside the office, Kent has volunteered his time as an Executive Board Member of The Sustainability Project, a local non-profit. As a member of The Sustainability Project, he co-authored the Green Building Guidelines for the County of Santa Barbara. He served three years as Board President of The Green Building Alliance (a local group of green building professionals). For the last 4 years he has served as the non-resident Architect Professional to the Hollister Ranch Design Committee.
